Concession Duty Coverage Agreement

Smyrna Junior Baseball League strives to be fair to members and players. While the coaches are volunteer positions, each parent/guardian/representative is also an active member within SJBL.
In an effort to effectively provide coverage for SJBL’s concession stand, the following is understood and has been explained to me:

Each player must be represented in the concession during their team’s scheduled time with a minimum of 4 hours per player. A concession schedule will be distributed before the season begins. Your assigned team possibly will have more than one time to cover the concession area. Your coach/team mom will coordinate which player’s representative will cover the concessions during your team’s assigned shift. When entering the concession stand, you must sign by the player’s name and note the time when you leave the concession area.

For each registered player, one parent/guardian/representative is required to work in the concession stand. If you choose, you have the option to ‘buyout’ of concession coverage. The concession buyout fee is $25.00 and must be paid at time of registration. Your buyout payment simply allows the player’s representative to NOT be required to participate in concession duty during regular season play. The “buyout” option does not cover the end of the season tournament and ALL players for winning tournament teams are required to participate in concessions for the tournament week(s).

If you choose to not ‘buyout’ of concession coverage and in turn do not work the required time, the player must sit out of each game until a $50.00 fine has been paid.

While we understand that concession coverage is an additional task for each of us, in order for Smyrna Junior Baseball League to provide a place to obtain refreshments, we must rely on our active members to staff the area.
